I’m Emeka “Ethan” Nwankwo. I live in Halifax, where I build products that reshape the future.

I’ve loved engineering for as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t until I was 13 that I realized tinkering with circuit boards and code was more than just a pastime. Whenever I had a spare moment (and sometimes when I didn’t), I could be found disassembling the old VCR or drawing up elaborate robot designs—much to my parents’ dismay.

Math quickly became my secret weapon. I was that kid who actually looked forward to problem sets, and who could get lost in a sea of variables and equations for hours. By the time I was in the university getting a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, I’d found a sweet spot between my love of maths and building things: software engineering. Little did I know it would turn into a decade-long career that took me everywhere from startups to global tech giants.

Somewhere along the way, I caught a glimpse of the future in two emerging fields: Blockchain and AI. I dove in headfirst, excited by how Blockchain could completely redefine trust and ownership, and how AI could shine a light on insights we’d only dreamed about before. It was like stumbling upon a whole new set of tools that could make my engineering daydreams even bigger and bolder.

But I didn’t just want to build things; I wanted to understand why certain ideas spark and how to launch them into the world. So I went back to school and earned a Master’s in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, which taught me how to turn that raw, inventive energy into something that genuinely helps people.

Today, I’m a Software Engineer and AI & Machine learning specialist by trade, combining a passion for coding, a love of math, and a flair for creative problem-solving. Whether I’m exploring the latest AI model, coding a blockchain proof-of-concept, or sketching out a completely off-the-wall prototype, I’m still that 13-year-old at heart, wide-eyed, curious, and forever thrilled by the possibility of what we can create next.
